Bob Montgomery is a sole practitioner in Lakewood, Colorado.  He graduated from the University of Kansas with a BA in philosophy in 1967 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1971.  As president of the Student Bar Association, Bob participated in the organization and establishment of the KU legal aid clinic in Lawrence, Kansas.  He has been practicing continuously in the Denver metropolitan area since 1971.  He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Kansas, before the Federal District Courts in both jurisdictions, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  Bob currently the President-elect of the First Judicial District Bar Association.  He has worked with the Metro Volunteer Lawyers Program (formerly the Thursday Night Bar Project) since 1971 and is currently the chairperson of the Metro Volunteer Lawyers Steering Committee.  He was recognized by Metro Volunteer Lawyers as the First Judical District volunteer of the year for 1992 and also received a certificate of appreciation from the Colorado Bar Association for his volunteer work.  Bob has spoken at several of seminars on domestic violence, restraining orders and family law, including the 1995 and 1997 Family Law Basic Skills Pro Bono seminar.  He maintains a general civil practice with emphasis in domestic relations, family law and personal bankruptcy.
